Weekend in Chicago

We took the kids to Chicago for Presidents Day Weekend...along with A LOT of other people!!!  Needless to say, it was crowded!!!  But we had a lot of fun...the first stop, the Lego Discovery Center in Schaumburg.  Riley was in heaven!

We started out with a tour of the mini-Chicago.

The detail was amazing!

There was even a light dusting of snow on the streets...

Then it was off to the jungle!

Riley liked the lizard...

And the Lego jungle guy!

Watch out for the alligator!

Sully was a little freaked out by the huge spider.

Silly daddy!

Indiana Jones is so cool...

But not as cool as R2D2!!!

Sully wasn't a fan of Darth Vader either!

There was a Lego factory where they let you help make a batch of perfect Legos!

Riley got to push the button to start the heater and melt the plastic.

And here's Riley's perfect batch of Legos!

After making Legos it was off to play in the climbing structure.

By far the favorite part of the day (besides the gift shop, of course!) was building their own Lego cars to race.

Riley was very intent on making the perfect Lego car!

Sully followed suit because he can't be left out...he has to do everything Riley does these days!

After the perfect car was constructed, it was time for the big race...

Ready, Set, Go!!!!

Sully raced his down the big ramp!

Vroom!

On the way out we said hi to Batman...

And Harry Potter!

Riley keeps asking when we can go back so I think it's safe to say he had a blast.  Stay tuned...more pictures from the Chi-town weekend coming soon!
