Great Wolf Lodge

As an extension of Riley's birthday celebration, we took Jace, Riley and Sully to the Great Wolf Lodge and Riley's friend, Carson, and his family joined us too.  The boys had so much fun!  It's a huge indoor water park so it's a perfect little getaway in the middle of January in Ohio.  They keep the air at 84 degrees and the water temp was probably about the same.
I didn't get very many pictures of Riley because him and Carson were off with the daddies doing the bigger water slides.  Jace and Sully stuck with me in the smaller water slide area.  Jace's favorite was the medium sized blue one!
Jace enjoyed trying to splash people with the splash pullies!
And the day is not complete unless the 2 year old is trying to drink the yucky chlorinated water!
After playing in the water park for almost three hours, the kids were ready for dinner.  So we headed back to the room for some pizza....while we were waiting, the boys started putting together one of Riley's birthday presents.
The next morning the kids slept in pretty well (8AM)...the water park opened at 10AM so we ate breakfast in the room and hung out until it was time to go swimming again.  The boys favorite pool was the "hot tub"...it was a kid hot tub so it wasn't that hot -- bath temperature.  We'd alternate from playing in the big wave pool after the wolf howled (because that meant they were making waves!) then back to the hot tub...then some slides and back to the hot tub.
The adults even got to have a little fun -- we switched off watching the kids with Carson's parents so the adults could go ride the "big slides".  The water roller coaster was the best!
The kids enjoying the big pool in between waves!
Jace made a friend in the wave pool and went to ride the lazy river a few times...Cody had Sully so he walked behind the tubes and got his workout in for the day!
It was a lot of fun...we're hoping to make it back there before we move this summer because the boys had so much fun!

Riley's Party!

We celebrated Riley's birthday on Sunday at the Boonshoft Children's Museum -- the kids had a blast! We started out the party with pizza and snacks...

After pizza and snacks it was time for the experiments!  The first one involved jelly crystals and food coloring...the kids put a jelly crystal in the tray and used a dropper to put diluted food coloring to absorb into the crystals and watched them change colors.
After the jelly crystals it was time to make some kryptonite goo...yuck!  The kids, of course, loved it!
After the experiments it was time for some demonstrations...and what better way to get to the learning lab than to fly like a bird!
Look at all these crazy boys!
The first demonstration was mixing two liquids to see it glow!
The birthday boy got to hold the funnel...
Next it was fire in a big jar!
And there were also bubbles lit on fire!
After the demonstrations it was back to the room for birthday cake...we had a transformers theme this year.  Riley requested the autobots symbol on his cake.
Happy Birthday to you...
Then it was Riley's favorite part of the day...present opening!
After presents the kids were able to go through the museum...they started at the tide pool.
Then worked their way through the rest of the museum...Sully liked the cash register in the grocery store.
The boys like the huge fish tank!
And who doesn't like making pizza?!?!
It was an awesome party...the boys had a blast and the best part -- no clean up required!  Happy Birthday my big 5 year old!!!

Five years ago today our little guy was born!

And now he is a smart, funny, loving, and handsome five year old!

Riley loves transformers, super heros and Legos!  He is a very sweet big brother and looks out for Sully.  Riley enjoys swimming, riding his two wheeler, and being a crazy kid!  Happy Birthday, Riley!

Happy Birthday, Sully!

Two years ago our little guy was born!

And now he is a sweet, crazy, cute and sometimes bratty two year old!

He loves to copy his brother, read books, and play with his trains.  His vocabulary is increasing on a daily basis and he's learning to be a little helper around the house.  He's my little snugglebug!  Happy Birthday, Sullivan!!!

Sully's Party

Sully's birthday party was yesterday and can you guess what the theme was?  That's right, Mickey Mouse!  Similar to what Riley wanted on his second birthday!

All of the boys wanted to try on the ears -- even little Declan (who isn't so little anymore...not only is he almost as tall as Sully, he is now walking and all over the place like a big boy!).

Sully wanted an appetizer before the party started...hershey kisses!

Big smiles from Declan!

Sully was interested in opening presents this year so we didn't make him wait too long!

The big boys were very helpful bringing the presents over so Sully could open them.

Crazy Jace!

Declan liked Sully's new big wheel better than Sully...guess we know what he's getting from Aunt Kate in six months!

Sully was acting shy when everyone started singing Happy Birthday to him.

He just needed a little help from daddy blowing the candle out!

 Sully loves birthday cake!

Sawyer acting like he's shy...yeah, right!

Look at that scowl!  I guess he's tired of his mom's new toy in his face all the time!

I think all the boys were very happy with the Mickey cake...yellow cake, rasberry filling and buttercream icing -- what's not to like?!

One party down, one to go next weekend -- too much birthday by the end of January!!!
