We celebrated Riley's birthday on Sunday at the Boonshoft Children's Museum -- the kids had a blast! We started out the party with pizza and snacks...
After pizza and snacks it was time for the experiments! The first one involved jelly crystals and food coloring...the kids put a jelly crystal in the tray and used a dropper to put diluted food coloring to absorb into the crystals and watched them change colors.
After the jelly crystals it was time to make some kryptonite goo...yuck! The kids, of course, loved it!
After the experiments it was time for some demonstrations...and what better way to get to the learning lab than to fly like a bird!
Look at all these crazy boys!
The first demonstration was mixing two liquids to see it glow!
The birthday boy got to hold the funnel...
Next it was fire in a big jar!
And there were also bubbles lit on fire!
After the demonstrations it was back to the room for birthday cake...we had a transformers theme this year. Riley requested the autobots symbol on his cake.
Happy Birthday to you...
Then it was Riley's favorite part of the day...present opening!
After presents the kids were able to go through the museum...they started at the tide pool.
Then worked their way through the rest of the museum...Sully liked the cash register in the grocery store.
The boys like the huge fish tank!
And who doesn't like making pizza?!?!
It was an awesome party...the boys had a blast and the best part -- no clean up required! Happy Birthday my big 5 year old!!!
