Lego Competition

Catching up with some pictures from the end of October, Riley participated in a Lego competition.  He had to build a moon rover over the course of four one hour sessions on Tuesdays during the month of October.  During the competition, the team had to present their moon rover...they had to explain their team name and how they came up with the design of their vehicle.

Then they had to show the judge how far it could travel on a carpet surface (using the plunger provided).  Notice Riley's tongue sticking out as he gets ready to hit the plunger...I'm convinced it helped the vehicle travel farther!

The next test was how far it could travel over a "moon" surface.

The last test was how well it could scoop up a sample of the moon surface.

Riley and his teammate, Lily, did a great job presenting their moon rover...and they had a great time competing with kids from other schools in the area.  It was great to see cadets and airmen as judges for the competition -- giving back to their community.  Love it!
